 | Jim Tweedy Jim Tweedy BIO
Jim Tweedy, born in the late 1950s in Covington, Louisiana, began his artistic journey at an early age. From childhood art lessons with his father and former Disney animator, Byron Tweedy, to studying under famed former NASA illustrator, Walter Labiche, Jim developed his talents into a way of life.
In May 1992, Jim found his fame with Charlie the RedCat. In 2002, Jim realized that “man cannot live by cat alone,” and created Jim Tweedy’s Friendly Doggies. These cartoon dogs are humorous and endearing, and have captured the hearts of animal lovers and art collectors alike.
With new additions being added daily, and to continue spreading the puppy love, Jim takes part in juried art shows nationwide, and frequently creates commissioned art pieces. And now for the first time ever, his work is available to purchase online! Whether you are looking for an original painting, or a limited or open edition print, you can find it all right here! |
